US NAVY WILL HOST RIMPAC EXERCISE
The U.S. Navy said Wednesday it will host the world’s largest maritime exercises in Hawaii again this year, but the drills will only be held at sea because of the coronavirus.
The Navy has held the Rim of the Pacific exercises in Hawaii every two years since the early 1970s
RIMPAC, the Rim of the Pacific Exercise, is the world’s largest international maritime warfare exercise.
RIMPAC is held biennially during June and July of
even-numbered years from Honolulu, Hawaii.
It is hosted and administered by the United States Navy’s Indo-Pacific Command, headquartered at Pearl Harbor
CENTRE LAUNCHES PROJECT MONITORING UNIT OF COAL BLOCKS
The Centre on Thursday announced the launch of a project monitoring unit to facilitate early operationalisation of coal blocks, a move that may attract bidders during auction of commercial mines.
The step will help promote ease of doing business in India as it will facilitate coal mines allocatees to obtain timely approvals for operationalising the mines.

MGNREGA GETS SANCTION OF RS. 33,300 CRORES BY CENTRE
The sanction of Rs. 33,300 crore has been done under MGNREGA, out of it Rs. 20,624 crores have been given to liquidate all the outstanding dues of the previous year towards material and wages.

It aims to enhance livelihood security in rural areas by providing at least 100 days of wage employment in a financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work
