RRB ALP 2024 Exam Notification
Railway Recruitment Board has released RRB Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) 2024 Notification PDF for candidates to download in its official website. The notification was released on 20th January, 2024 through various regional websites of RRB. The details of Age Criteria, Vacancies, Selection Process, Exam Patterns and Syllabus ae discussed in detail. RRB ALP 2024 Exam Date
RRB Assistant Loco-Pilot 2024 Exam dates released tentatively. Exact dates will be officially announced later. As per the tentative timelines published in RRB’s official site CBT 1 exams can be expected between June and August 2024. Subsequently CBT 2 is expected in September 2024, Aptitude Test (CABT) in November 2024. And shortlist of candidates for document verification will be released in either November or December 2024.

RRB ALP 2024 Exam Last Date to Apply
Attention to all candidates! RRB Assistant Loco Pilot last date to apply is on 19th February, 2024. All aspirants are advised to read the official instructions carefully at first and finish the application process and upload all the required documents. And apply online for ALP Exam 2024 before the last date of application.
RRB ALP 2024 Eligibility
Assistant Loco Pilot 2024 exam eligibility criteria includes physical fitness along with educational qualifications. Only candidates with distant vision 6/6 on both eyes without glasses and with fog test. Near vision of 0.6 Snellen in both eyes without glasses. Also all candidates must pass tests for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision, Night Vision, Mesopic Vision, etc.
Also, candidates must possess the following minimum educational qualification:
Matriculation / SSLC + ITI from recognised institutions of NCVT/SCVT in trades of Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright / Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio & TV), Electronics Mechanic, Armature & Coil Winder, Mechanic Diesel), Heat Engine, Turner, Machinist, Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Mechanic. Also, Diploma or degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering is accepted.

RRB ALP 2024 Age Limit
Candidates applying must lie in the age group 18-30. Age limit and relaxations for candidates from various communities will be as follows.
- Lower limit of Date of Birth for all candidates: 01.07.2006
- Upper Limit of Date of Birth for UR & EWS candidates: 02.07.1994
- Upper Limit of Date of Birth for OBC (NCL) candidates: 02.07.1991
- Upper Limit of Date of Birth for SC & ST candidates: 02.07.1989
RRB ALP 2024 Exam Fees
Candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee as per their respective communities while registering for RRB ALP Exam 2024.
For candidates who belong to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities or EBC the fee shall be ₹ 250. The entire amount after deducting bank charges will be refunded after only the candidates appear in CBT 1.
For all candidates who don’t belong to the above-mentioned category the fees shall be ₹ 500. And an amount of ₹ 400 from this fee will be refunded after only the candidates appear in CBT 1.
RRB ALP 2024 Exam Selection Process
The recruitment process of RRB Assistant Loco Pilot Level 2 is spanned over five steps.
- CBT-1: First stage of Selection Process is Computer Based Test 1. Here candidates, apart from their trade of choice, will be attending a common exam with same syllabus. Candidates will have to face 75 questions with 1 mark for each correct answers with in a time duration of 60 minutes. The questions will be asked from four topics
- Mathematics
- Mental Ability
- General Science &
- General Awareness
- CBT-2: In this second stage of selection process RRB conducts two exams, Part A and Part B. Only candidates who are shortlisted, based on the performance in CBT 1 can appear for this test. And Part B of the Test is of qualifying nature.
- CBAT: In this Computer Based Aptitude Test RRB analyses candidates’ Psychological fitness for various aspects such as intelligence, depth perception, etc.
- Final merit list will be prepared after assessing the combined performance in CBT Paper A and CBAT Exams.
- Document verification and Medical examination are the final stages in RRB ALP recruitment process
RRB ALP 2024 Vacancy
Railway Recruitment Board has released the details of 5696 vacancies including reservation vacancies in Railway Recruitment Boards all over India. Candidates may check the availability and choose the region according to their comfort. Candidates should not apply to multiple RRBs or same RRB more than once. Railway Recruitment Board has specially mentioned that Part B is of qualifying nature and candidates irrespective of category / community should score at least a minimum of 35%.
Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT):
Candidates will be shortlisted for CBAT on the basis of their marks in Part-A of CBT 2 and community reservation rules. Also, all candidates must have scored a minimum mark in CBT 2 Part B.
Here the test is being conducted to assess the following aspects of candidates:

- Personality
All candidates should score a minimum of 42% in each of the above sessions in CABT.
