What is the minimum qualification?
- A pass in SSLC or equivalent examination
- Must possess a current HPV/HTV Driving License
- Possession of License for driving Motor Cycle shall be a desirable qualification
Note
Proficiency in driving – Medium/Heavy Goods /Passenger Motor Vehicles will have to be proved through a practical test including 'T' Test and Road Test conducted by PSC during the course of selection only those who have passed 'T' Test are eligible for Road Test.
Those who claim equivalent qualification shall produce the respective Government Order to prove the claim at the time of One Time Verification or as required by the Commission. Candidate should possess current valid Driving License and Badge throughout all the stages of selection process.ie, on the last date of receipt of application.

Medical Fitness
(a) Ear - Hearing should be perfect.
- The hearing capacity of both the ears – Right Ear and Left Ear.
(b) Eye - Distant vision: 6/6 Snellen 6/6 Snellen
- Near vision: 0.5 Snellen 0.5 Snellen
- Colour Vision: Normal
- Night blindness: Nil
(c) Muscles and joints - No paralysis and all joints must be capable of free movement.
(d) Nervous System - Perfectly normal and free from any infectious diseases.
Jail Driver Syllabus PDF
Driver syllabus PDF is given in the official website of Kerala PSC where the major areas of focus include General Knowledge which will be asked for 40 marks, public health which will be asked for 10 marks. These subjects will be asked in the first section of the exam. Part 2 will be completely regarding Driving which will be asked for 50 marks. The mark distribution of each of the subjects in Part 1 and 2 are given in detail.
