Age Limit for LPSA

The LPSA Age limit as in the gazette notification is from 18 years to 40 years. However, considerable relaxations are given for other reserved categories like those categories included as other backward communities, SC/ST, etc., and shall not exceed 50 years.

Educational Qualification for LPSA

1. A pass in the SSLC Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala, or its equivalent.

OR

A pass in the Pre-degree examination conducted by any of the Universities in Kerala or any examination recognized by any such University in Kerala or found equivalent to the Pre-degree examination.

OR

A pass in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examinations, Kerala, or any other Examinations recognized by the Government as equivalent thereto.

2. A pass in the TTC Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala.
3. Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala.

Exemptions

Candidates with CTET/ SET/ NET/ M.Phil./ Ph.D./ M.Ed. are exempted from acquiring KTET.

The last LP-UP notification came in 2019 when a total of 35455 candidates applied for this post, out of which 30K candidates appeared for the exam. However, the number of candidates who appeared for the 2019 recruitments was much less compared to the previous years as KTET qualification was introduced as a mandatory eligibility to apply.

Age Limit for UPSA

The UPSA Age limit and the LPSA Age limit include the same age slab i.e., from 18 years to a maximum limit of 40 years. However, other reserved categories enjoy the usual age relaxation.

The essential educational qualification for Upper Primary School Assistant follows as detailed below.
