The Kerala Public Service Commission has released the latest notification for the post of Sub Inspector of Police (Trainee) under the category number 448/2025, 449/2025 & 450/2025 of the Kerala Civil Police Department on 28 November 2025. Applications are invited through the One Time Registration (OTR) system on the Kerala PSC official website before 31 December 2025. 

Women candidates are fully eligible to apply for the Kerala PSC Sub Inspector (Trainee) post, while differently abled candidates are not eligible as per the Kerala PSC SI eligibility criteria.

Kerala PSC Police SI Recruitment 2025 - Category wise Vacancy Method of Appointment

Kerala PSC SI Recruitment 2025 is conducted under three different categories:

1. Category No. 448/2025 – Open Market

Direct recruitment from eligible graduate candidates.

2. Category No. 449/2025 – Ministerial Staff

For Graduate Ministerial staff of:

• Police Department
• Vigilance Department
• Fingerprint Bureau staff (Fingerprint Experts & Searchers)
  Must have completed 2 years of service.

3. Category No. 450/2025 – Constabulary

• Graduate Police Constables
• Head Constables
• Equivalent ranks in Police/Vigilance who completed probation

Important Notes:

• Vacancies are allotted to each category based on government orders.
• Ministerial & Constabulary quota candidates can apply either for Open Market or their category.
• Reservation, rotation rules apply only to Category 448/2025 (Open Market).

Kerala PSC SI Eligibility 2025

The Kerala PSC SI Eligibility 2025 includes specific educational qualifications plus age limits and relaxations for different communities and categories.

Educational Qualification 2025

• Graduation from a recognized university.
• Additional Note for SC/ST (Category 448/2025) : If sufficient SC/ST graduates are not available, those who passed Intermediate / PUC will be considered only for reserved vacancies.
• Equivalent qualifications declared by Government through official orders are accepted.

Kerala PSC SI 2025 – Age Limit

• Category 448/2025 (Open Market): 20–31 year : Born between 02.01.1994 and 01.01.2005.
• Category 449/2025 (Ministerial) : Should not have completed 36 years as of 01.01.2025.
• Category 450/2025 (Constabulary) : Should not have completed 36 years as of 01.01.2025.

Age relaxation is applicable as per PSC General Conditions.

Kerala PSC SI Physical Qualifications 2025

Candidates must be physically fit and meet the minimum physical standards.

For Male Candidates:

No chest measurement required for women.

Kerala PSC SI Medical Standards 

To qualify for the Kerala PSC Sub Inspector (Trainee) Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet the Kerala PSC SI Medical Standards, including the required vision standards without wearing glasses or contact lenses.

Distant Vision:

• Right Eye: 6/6
• Left Eye: 6/6

 Near Vision:

• Right Eye: 0.5
• Left Eye: 0.5

Disqualifications include:

• Colour blindness
• Squint
• Defective speech or hearing
• Knock-knee
• Flat feet
• Varicose veins
• Bow legs
• Protruding/irregular teeth

A Medical Fitness Certificate from a Civil Surgeon is compulsory during the verification stage to confirm eyesight standards and overall physical fitness.

Kerala PSC SI Physical Efficiency Test (PET) 2025

Candidates must qualify the Kerala PSCSI Physical Efficiency Test (PET) 2025  in any 5 out of 8 events in the National Physical Efficiency One Star Standard.
