The Supreme Court of India released the latest KTET updates for government and aided school teachers on 01/09/2025. Refer to the latest KTET news and judgement, emphasising special regulations on KTET qualification. 

1. New rules of Kerala school teacher qualification by the Supreme Court mandate that all teachers already in service must qualify for KTET within 2 years to continue their service in government and aided schools.
2. The in-service teachers who have less than 5 years to retirement are exempted from qualifying for the KTET exam, but qualifying for the KTET is necessary for them too to receive promotions.
3. These latest KTET updates made KTET 2025 a compulsory requirement for teachers who came into service before July 2009. 
4. Those in-service teachers who could not qualify for KTET within the allotted time limit should undergo compulsory retirement with all the government benefits as per KTET new rule.
5. Thus, qualifying for KTET becomes a necessity for job security and survival for government and aided school teachers.

KTET Application Fees for In-service Teachers 2025

There is a slight difference in the KTET application fees since this KTET notification is specific for in-service teachers of government and aided schools. The KTET application fees for already-serving teachers are ₹1000 for those in the General category and ₹750 for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH/Blind/Ex-Serviceman categories.

Things to be Noted During KTET Application Form for In-service Teachers

• As per the government order dated 05/11/2024, the KTET exam is conducted only for teachers working in government/aided schools without the required KTET qualification in the specified category, so a candidate can only apply for one category.
• KTET application form for in-service teachers should only be submitted via online mode.
• All information including the candidate's name, date of birth, basic educational qualification, caste, category, and reservation for differently-abled persons must be submitted accurately.
