• Failure to qualify KTET within the permitted period may result in compulsory retirement with eligible government benefits.

KTET Special Exams in 2023 and 2025 were limited to only teachers appointed between 2016 and 2020. 

As a result, only 5,000 in-service teachers appeared for the KTET Special Exam in 2023 and only about 2,000 teachers appeared in the KTET Special Exam 2025.

However, In light of the Supreme Court TET Judgement 2025, the KTET Special Notification 2026 aims at all those in-service teachers without the mandatory KTET qualification irrespective of the appointment year.
