CTET Eligibility Criteria 2026
To apply for CTET 2026, candidates must meet the CTET eligibility 2026 set by CBSE. The eligibility differs for Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Paper I (Primary Level – Classes 1–5)
- Passed Senior Secondary (50% marks) with 2-year D.El.Ed
- Passed Senior Secondary (45% marks) with 2-year D.El.Ed (NCTE norms)
- Graduated with 2-year D.El.Ed
Paper II (Upper Primary Level – Classes 6–8)
- Graduated with 50% marks and B.Ed
- Passed Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed, B.Ed, or B.Sc.Ed

CTET paper 1 & paper 2 Syllabus 2026
CTET 2026 syllabus for Paper 1 & 2 covers teaching skills, pedagogy, language and subjects, helping aspirants prepare strategically. Paper I is for candidates who wish to teach Classes I to V (Primary Stage) while Paper 2 is for those who wish to teach Classes VI to VIII (Elementary / Upper-Primary Stage)

CTET 2026 Important Instructions & Correction Window
- Only CTET online applications are accepted. Fax, email or hard-copy applications are not permitted.
- Upload scanned photograph and signature in the specified format and size, incorrect submissions may lead to rejection.
- Once fee is submitted, no changes can be made, but there may be a limited correction window (subject to CTET portal notification) for certain details (name, DOB, category, exam city or opted paper) before admit card release.
- After submission, print or save the confirmation page for future reference.
- Qualifying CTET does not guarantee a teaching appointment, it only certifies that one meets the basic eligibility criteria. Final recruitment depends on the hiring agency / School / State’s recruitment rules.
