What Is Kerala SET?

Candidates belonging to reserved categories must submit their original Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate after qualifying the Kerala SET 2026 exam to claim reservation benefits.

Valid Issuance Period for the Certificate

The NCL certificate must be issued between 30 October 2024 and 13 December 2025. Only certificates issued within this period will be accepted for Kerala SET 2026.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade.
• A B.Ed. Degree in any subject from a recognized university in Kerala (or equivalent) is required.

Exceptions

• For subjects like Commerce, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Journalism, Music, French, Statistics and Syriac, a B.Ed. degree is not required.
• Candidates with an M.Sc.Ed. degree in science subjects from NCERT Regional Institutes are also eligible.
• Final-year PG or B.Ed. students can apply provisionally, but they must clear their qualifying exam within one year from the date of the SET result.

Age Limit

• There is no age limit to appear for the Kerala SET January 2026 exam.
