Overview

CTET or Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2024 is an important national level qualifying exam conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The exam is a test to create the best teaching community for the nation towards Pre-Primary, Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges. As per the official release the rationale behind the introduction of CTET was to bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process.

CTET Exam 2024 Exam Date

Central Board of Secondary Education is the CTET 2024 Exam conducting authority. Conducted twice in every year mostly in January and June. The first edition of 2024 CTET Exam is scheduled to be conducted on 21st January, 2024. Candidates who cleared CTET Paper I are eligible to apply for LP School Teacher Exams conducted by Kerala PSC. These candidates are exempted from qualifying K TET Category 1 Exam. Also, Candidates who have cleared CTET Paper I & II are exempted from clearing KTET Category I & II for UP School Teacher Exams by Kerala PSC.

CTET Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for CTET Exam is as decided by National Council for Teacher Education. The minimum qualifications of teachers were released as a gazette on 23rd August, 2010. The candidates are advised to check the site regularly as the eligibility criteria is subject matter to updates.

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

OR

  • Post-Graduation with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 – year B.Ed. (Special Education),

OR

  • Post-Graduation with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.

CTET Exam 2024 Preparation

With only a few days left for CTET exam candidates should go forward with their preparations with a good timetable. The time for detailed study is over students should tr to do more revisions and mock tests for the remaining days until examination. Engaging in a crash course for 10 days will help to refresh the memory and improve the performance in exam.

It is more important to revise Previous Question Papers than learning new topics. Understanding the pattern in which questions are asked will help candidates to attend them without taking too much time. Reading and understanding statement type questions are often time consuming.
